Is Ordering Online the way to go?
"I think it is great! It's so convenient - now I can order flooring whenever I need to and whenever I think about it. I never worry that House of Floors does not get my orders. The order confirmation sheet allow me to track my order, but I never need to, as my flooring is always installed on time as promised by House of Floors, with the quality I have come to expect from them. The only downside to the online ordering is that I miss the friendly conversation with all the House of Floors employees!" - Abbey Diehm The Villas of Timberlin Parc

Managing Flooring Costs Online
Everyday managers and maintenance are faced with the challenge of managing carpet and vinyl replacements. Commonly asking the following questions: 1. Replace, Clean or Dye? 2. When was the last time we replaced the floor in this unit? 3. How much of my budget has already been allocated to flooring this month, quarter, year? 4. How much will it cost to replace this unit?   read more...
Are you getting what you pay for? “Honesty! Honesty! Honesty!”
We at House of Floors only know how to conduct business one way and it starts with honesty. Too many times have we submitted proposals for carpet and pad only to find that we are not bidding apples to apples, but rather apples to oranges. We can appreciate competition in our industry, but let’s keep it on the same playing field. We have found that when House of Floors bids against another competitor on the exact same specifications, that our pricing is most favorable. So again we ask- are you getting what you pay for? Some of these issues that have arisen are pad discrepancies.   read more...
House of Floors Helps Hurricane Victims
I would like to tell you a story about South Louisiana and the Hurricanes of 2005. No one realized how destructive water can be least of all us Cajuns living in Louisiana. I have lived here all my life and have not seen water come up as fast or as much as for these last two hurricanes (Katrina and Rita). We had experienced hurricanes almost every year but none as big and destructive as these two. The rural part of Iberia and Vermillion Parishes were flooded as no one living had ever seen. I know this because my brother lives just a mile and a half from my home and his home was flooded with at least 48 inches of water. I know this because we went to his house in my boat and when we crossed an open field the waves were breaking over our heads. When we arrived at his house I tied my boat to his rafters of his house to get into his house. So you can see that we had water where water had never been in anybody living can remember. This action totally wiped out neighborhoods and all the homes.   read more...
Getting The Most From Your Carpet
New Carpet represents the number one budget cost for the multi-family industry. That is why we at House of Floors have worked closely with Manufacturers over the years to bring you the best products on the market and still be cost efficient. In recent additions of our newsletter, we have talked about using better padding to extend the life of your new carpet and about the different fibers available to give you better wear and stain values. With that said, I still from time to time hear “Will that carpet only last seven months or is it only a year old and it’s ruined.” I really don’t think it is as much the carpets fault as it is the end user’s fault. So I thought I would pass along some information from Shaw Industries on how to care for your carpet.   read more...
